I do very well selling puts but I only sell whatever I can cover with cash. Also I only sell puts on stocks/ETFs I actually want to own at those levels, so it takes all the stress out lol. Sometimes I’m sad when I don’t get assigned

You can just buy a put at a lowe strike to limit your buying power used. It’ll turn your position into a put credit spread (also called bull put spread), which has limited loss but you will pay some premium for the protection
