Vitalik Buterin criticized the user preference towards speculation in crypto markets.

He said that focusing solely on gambling and ignoring utility will bring crypto markets to an end.

Vitalik has been highly critical in the past, but this statement is his harshest yet.

Current crypto markets focus more on trading cryptocurrencies as speculative assets, and utility is far lower than that.

Besides the top few projects like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and stablecoins and few others, nearly every other coin has only a small number of users.

  1. That’s why ICP is king. Value versus momentum. One builds slowly the other runs out of gas eventually.

  3. If?

Lol, that’s ALL crypto is. No one in crypto gives a shit about any kind of productive reform; it’s all about line goes up.

  4. “almost 4 million tokens in Solana lay dead”

I expected it to be a lot more than that.

  7. Isn’t he selling like $400M worth of ETH soon? Isn’t it in his best interest to keep people interested in his Shitcoin for the time being?

That being said, everyone needs to buy only Bitcoin. Only Bitcoin should be bought.

As far as i remember, crypto’s life line has always been speculation, it is the driving force. That’s why to create an actual purpose for any coin is to incorporate it in real life with clear-goal utilization and not making it a stock-like asset
